Ask anyone about tourism in Hpa-an and they will tell you about Soe Brothers, and rightly so. While their guesthouse is a little small and tired the customer service is exceptional and all staff have a high degree of English literacy, highly recommended for the budget traveler. Gold Market Guesthouse USD 3-12
Situated next to the gold market and the Ye River, They do have a lovely double room overlooking the river for $6 and singles for $3 which is awesome value. The manager is a helpful gentleman with English.

Starlight is situated beautify on the lake edge in central Ye, freshly opened for the 2014/15 tourist season this place lifts the standard and is far nicer than any accommodation you would normally find in most towns the size of Ye’s. The manager and his wife are exceptionally helpful and proud of their town, they are more than happy to assist with travel plans, motorbikes, boat trips and recommendations on how to spend your time in Ye. Potentially a loose usage of the word “resort” this local-government run establishment is still mid-level accommodation. The resort is well situated on the beachfront and has a modern sound system with audible karaoke playing most of the day and night, however managment are learning fast and the place is improving.
DDPC Bungalows; USD 20-30
These are the only bungalows in Maung Ma Kan to actually offer a proper sea view, rooms are very basic without even a fan. Supporting buildings are currently being constructed which will increase utility offered at the bungalows.
Dawei has a good selection of hotels with over half the inventory being less than one year old. Costs range from $9 for backpacker accommodation through to $60 for modern business hotels.
